Get Started

“Well begun is half done” – Aristotle

Getting started is one of the hardest parts of any meaningful change. We all have our reasons for putting things off:

  • Waiting for the perfect timing
  • Fear of failure
  • Wanting everything to be flawless
  • Or just… life happening

If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in good company.

I’ve always been drawn to self‑help ideas and motivational philosophies. Years ago, I watched an interview with a guy who had built a successful company and seemed to be living his best life. His message was simple and unforgettable:

“Just get started.”

Not when the stars align.
Not when you feel ready.
Not when you’ve researched every angle.

Just start.

He said most people could dramatically improve their lives, but they never take the first step. That hit me hard—because I was one of those people.

The idea for Steady Bunny came to me over five years ago. I could have started then. Instead, I thought about it. I wrote things down. I watched countless YouTube videos. I made lists. I read books. I planned. I refined. I planned some more.

And I waited.

Part of it was perfectionism. Part of it was fear. Part of it was the worry that I’d get months into the project, realize I should have done it differently, and feel compelled to start over. I jokingly say I have a PhD in procrastination—but there’s truth in that.

To get to the point where you’re even reading this, I had to accept something uncomfortable:

This will be imperfect.
I will make mistakes.
I will wish I had done things differently.
Some parts will make me cringe later.

And I’m doing it anyway.

If you’re starting something new, it might feel messy and disjointed. You might not have a perfect plan. You might jump around. You might feel unsure.

That’s okay.

We’re blazing a trail toward better living—together. And every trail starts with one imperfect, unglamorous, unpolished step.

So here’s your invitation:
Start today. Start small. Start messy. But start.

Your future self will thank you.
